Your Voice, AI, and Libraries

AI can help us draft, revise, summarize, and find language quickly. It can also produce communication that sounds polished while leaving us uncertain about where the person ends and the tool begins.

Join Kelly Campbell for an Open Table conversation about preserving authentic voice as AI becomes part of how libraries write, teach, and communicate. We will consider what makes a voice recognizably our own, what responsible use of AI asks of us, and what should remain human even when a tool can reproduce the surface of professional language.

The conversation may also explore how librarians can help students and library users engage AI without feeling pressured to conform to a voice that is not authentically theirs. Kelly’s related article will provide background for the topic, but there is no required reading and no need to arrive with a settled position.

This will be a philosophical and practical conversation for people already encountering AI in library work. Come ready to reflect, question, and learn with others. Participate by chat, audio, or camera as you are able.

This event is open to all members of the Fosgail Community. The Open Membership tier is free to join.
