You know your library makes a difference. But when someone asks for a story that shows its value, it can be surprisingly difficult to know where to begin. The moments that matter most are often small, unfinished, or so woven into daily work that we barely notice them.
Join Myka Kennedy Stephens for an Open Table conversation about storytelling as a leadership practice. Together, we will explore how to recognize stories in ordinary library experiences, shape them without polishing away what makes them human, and use them to help others understand why the work matters.
You are welcome to bring a story you would like to explore, but you do not need to arrive with anything prepared. Depending on what participants bring to the table, we may discuss examples, experiment with telling a short story, ask questions, or offer one another thoughtful feedback. The conversation will remain flexible and responsive to the people gathered.
This is a place to practice—not to perform. Come as you are and participate by chat, audio, or camera as you are able. You may share a story, help someone else hear what is meaningful in theirs, or simply listen while you get acquainted with the Community.
This event is open to all members of the Fosgail Community. The Open Membership tier is free to join.
