Book Club: Dare to Lead by Brené Brown

Using our voices as leaders is not simply a matter of finding the right words. It can ask us to enter uncertainty, name what matters, stay curious, and participate in conversations we might rather avoid.

Join Myka Kennedy Stephens and the Fosgail Community for a discussion of Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead. Brown presents daring leadership through four teachable skill sets: vulnerability, living into values, building trust, and learning to rise. The book applies these ideas to brave work, difficult conversations, and creating cultures in which people feel seen, heard, and respected.

As part of Fosgail’s quarterly theme, Exercising Voice, we will explore what the book suggests about speaking with courage and clarity without armoring ourselves or disappearing into our roles. The exact conversation will be shaped by the interests and questions participants bring.

Reading the full book is encouraged but not required. You are welcome if you have finished it, started it, read it in the past, or are simply interested in the ideas. Participants are responsible for obtaining their own copy.

Come ready for a thoughtful, open conversation. Participate by chat, audio, or camera as you are able.

This event is open to all members of the Fosgail Community. The Open Membership tier is free to join.
